This afternoon Hannah and I spent a couple hours checking out our favorite thrifting haunts while up in the Sheboygan area. Seems that it’s always easier to find Pyrex here then down by us in Madison. I found this very good condition 443 Cinderella mixing bowl in the Pyrex Gooseberry pattern. While I don’t much care for the 442 and 444 in yellow with black gooseberries, I do very much like the black on white on this and the 441. It wasn’t even on the shelf yet when I spied it behind the counter on a cart. Fortunately, it was already priced (they don’t sell un-priced merchandise) and I was able to get someone to fetch it for me. I eagerly paid the $2.49 and made this one mine.
I’ve decided to pare down my Pyrex collection to aqua/white/black pieces, as well as some special promotional pieces. So, once I have access to my storage unit on a regular basis, I’ll be listing a lot of my collection.
Hannah and I also came across these great coffee mugs, in a crazy quilt-kinda pattern. I’d purchased a set of four of these a couple years ago, and sold them on my Etsy site. If memory serves me correctly, they were scooped up almost instantly! I found only two today, and am considering listing them … if I don’t keep these for ourselves! They’re just so cute – it was difficult to part with the last set.
I also found a like new/never used king-size vintage Vera pink butterfly bed sheet that will be repurposed into some fun, modern baby quilts for the shop in the future. My nearly 10-year-old son Isaac is requesting a typewriter for Christmas, so I located him one that should serve the purpose. I also found a great vintage leather box-style briefcase, with the original keys (and it locks!) which I’ll be gifting my son as well so that he has a “safe” spot to keep the things he doesn’t want his little sister getting into. And, last but not least, I found a huge pack of industrial size coffee filters that should sustain me through many coffee filter craft projects for only 99 cents.
Have you found anything noteworthy lately while thrifting or hitting up the op shops? Leave me a note and let me know!

As a former Sheboyganite, and now Madisonian, I’m curious where you thrift – in both cities!
Hi Katrina! I will say that i have the best luck finding vintage sheets in Madison and Pyrex/vintage dinnerware in Sheboygan. Thrifting spots in both cities – Sheboygan: Goodwill on the southside, Salvation Army on Michigan Ave., St. Vincent’s de Paul on Hwy 42 North, Fringe Benefits on Taylor Drive (by Festival Foods), and probably the best spot around is St. Vincent de Paul on Eastern Ave. in Plymouth. As far as thrifting in Madison: Goodwill (Fitchburg by Super Target and Madison by Staples/Hwy 151/18/Fitchburg exit and the far east Madison one by East Towne Mall), Salvation Army by East Towne Mall, Savers by East Towne Mall and West Towne Mall, and St. Vincent de Paul on Odana Road (there’s also a “dig-and-save” on South Park Street where you pay for housewares, etc. by the pound.). I don’t know if you have kids, but I’ve found that it’s not even worth digging through the clothing up in the Sheboygan area thrifts, as I’ve found TONS of designer clothes for next to nothing in Madison (like two pairs of Seven for Mankind jeans for $7)… and there’s rarely Pyrex in Madison, but a pretty good selection of vintage plates/dishes/etc. I try to find the best of both places! Happy Thrifting!
